Umbria is a small region, about 150 km North to South and less than 100 km West to East. Assisi is centrally located in Umbria and is therefore an ideal base to visit its famed hilltop towns and some of its scenic natural areas such as the Piano Grande di Castelluccio and the Valnerina. One week of leisurely day trips - see our guide - is adequate for a first visit of Umbria. You will come back!
Upon your arrival, aside from offering advice on sightseeing, we are more than happy to help you find and arrange many services and activities.
Are you a gourmet person? Not only do we offer hands-on cooking classes, but wine tasting by yourself or a guided tour. Olive oil tasting and even truffle hunting are available nearby.
If you are a passionate shopper, we’ll tell you about our favorite ceramic artisans in Deruta and where to find the most precious textiles. You can even get to see how they are made on hand operated looms.
Do you simply like to relax? We have plenty of sun loungers and both shaded and sunny quiet spots in the garden. There is also a pool a 5 min. drive away.
If you like nature, you do not need to leave our garden for bird watching, butterfly watching and some spectacular photography. Horse riding, rock climbing, kite flying and paragliding are offered nearby, in the Subasio Mountain Park. Some good walks start just outside our door.
